APRIL is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, we at the Community Action Family Center are committed to ending child abuse in Massachusetts and fostering a safer environment for our children.

We are excited to offer the The Childrens Trust KEEPING KIDS SAFE training series that focuses on equipping parents with the skills, language, and tools necessary to keep their children safe in all situations.

Our goal is to support parents and discuss how to protect their children from sexual abuse without inducing fear. We believe that its crucial to create an atmosphere of trust and openness, where children feel comfortable talking about anything that bothers them. But how do we talk about such sensitive topics without scaring our children? Thats what our workshop series aims to answer.

About the KEEPING KIDS SAFE Training Series
Our training series is divided into two parts! These sessions will be held at our center located at 90 Federal St, Greenfield, MA. This series is FREE and open to caregivers and parents!

Part 1:
The first part of the series will take place on Monday, April 8, 2024, from 4:30-5:30 pm. This session will navigate through the importance of open communication with children about their safety. We will also dive into the best practices to use when talking to children to prevent sexual abuse.

Part 2:
The second part of the series will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024, from 4:30-5:30 pm. This session will tackle more specific strategies and provide parents with practical tools to help keep their children safe.

Each caregiver who attends our training series will receive a free book for their home library. This book will serve as a resource for continued conversations about child safety at home.

Additional Support
We understand that attending these sessions might be challenging. Childcare and transportation supports are available for those who need them. We will also provide dinner to ensure you are comfortable and can focus on the session.
