Large Head Start and Early Education and Care Provider (serving children 6 weeks to 5 years) is seeking an innovative, passionate and skilled professional to oversee the delivery of mental health and disabilities services. Supervises on site Developmental Specialists for Disabilities and Mental Health and works closely with staff and families to build capacity, build bridges between systems and services on behalf of children and families, provide support for crisis management. Works with program leaders to continually improve best program practices in case management and developmental supports. At minimum, candidate must be a licensed mental health professional with Masters Degree and 2 years experience in early childhood mental health. At least one year of supervisory experience is required. Candidate must demonstrate comprehensive understanding of typical and atypical child development, 0-5, best practices in early childhood mental health, applicable laws, consultation services and community resources. Must have excellent observational, assessment, communication and case management skills. The Developmental Specialist for Mental Health works closely with staff, families and community agencies to 1) build capacity to address children’s social and emotional needs through staff training, on-site consultation and parent education; 2) build bridges between systems and services on behalf of children, families and the overall program through community referrals, follow up and tracking; and 3) provide support for crisis management and developing individualized behavior plans. Minimum qualifications are licensed mental health professional with BA/BS, 2 years mental health experience including 1 year in early childhood mental health. TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR

Our large Head Start and Child Care Program is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee transportation services for young children. 3 years experience coordinating fleet of passenger vans and school buses and at least one year supervisory experience required. Must have CDL License with S and P endorsements and have or quickly acquire working knowledge of the Department of Public Utilities, Department of Motor Vehicles, Head Start, State and Federal regulations. Excellent problem solving, verbal and written communication skills and fluency in Word and Excel required. Must have demonstrated ability to develop and maintain efficient organizational systems and collaborate well with others.  Full time position with 10 weeks of slightly reduced hours during the summer. HEAD START HOME BASED HOME VISITOR

37.5 hours per week school year with summer reduction.

Engage in collaborative partnership building with enrolled families and provide comprehensive case management services, in accordance with Early/Head Start Regulations and as outlined in the PCDC Service Delivery Plan.  Provide weekly home visits to families with children ages 0-5 years and to pregnant mothers to provide child development, advocacy, and health and nutrition information and support. Plan and facilitate bi-weekly parent-child socialization groups.

Position serves Franklin County and surrounding Hampshire County communities. Must demonstrate very good verbal and written communication skills, the ability to prioritize and be exceptionally organized.  Must possess computer literacy skills and be comfortable with file review and data entry tasks.  Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field, familiarity with Head Start and at least three years case management or home visiting experience highly preferred.  Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply. Responsible for assisting the Director of Business Operations with a variety of tasks, with a strong focus on monitoring parent fee activities to ensure maximum revenue collections and compliance with EEC Financial Assistance regulations; A/R reporting related to parent fees activities; issue fiscal terminations for non-payment of fees, process weekly Family Child Care Educator invoices; enter attendance for EEC billing and other related tasks. 

Must be proficient utilizing Microsoft Excel and Word, have excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, be comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline driven environment, and have the ability to work independently or as a member of a team. Be or quickly become knowledgeable and remain current with: Massachusetts Early Education and Care (EEC) Financial Assistance rules and regulations, policy guides, memos and other communications as they pertain to PCDC operations, PCDC enrollment processes, and Community Action fiscal policies, procedures and systems.

The Family Services Supervisor supports and oversees Family Advocates to ensure effective case management, file and data integrity, collaboration and family engagement according to regulation and program goals. Must be a confident supervisor with demonstrated experience with case management in human services and be able to use internal data system for tracking, monitoring and reporting.

Candidate must demonstrate excellent professional judgment and have the ability to make sound decisions, knowledge of Head Start requirements preferred. Must be computer literate (with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel), and demonstrate excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills. SUBSTITUTE BUS MONITOR
Community Action’s Parent-Child Development Center is seeking substitute Bus Monitors in Amherst, Northampton, Orange, Turners Falls, Ware and Westfield. Bus Monitors assist infants, toddlers, and preschoolers on and off the school bus. Bus routes run 1 ½ - 3 hrs during the early mornings, midday, and late afternoons. Must be able to engage children in positive social behaviors; assist children to their seats and secure them safely; safely unload children and release to their authorized adult; work cooperatively with the driver, staff, and parents; and maintain a professional and positive attitude. All applicants must be at least 18 yrs. old and have reliable transportation to meet the bus. Prospective employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and successfully pass a background check, plus submit a current physical. CPR and First Aid certified preferred. THE MEDIATION & TRAINING COLLABORATIVE

The Mediation & Training Collaborative is seeking a positive, compassionate individual for a 15 hr/wk position, minimum 3 days a week, as a Peer Mediation Specialist in a Franklin County middle school, supporting volunteer student mediators to help resolve conflicts between students in their school.  This individual promotes the peer mediation program in the school, recruits students to be trained as mediators, schedules mediations, meets regularly with peer mediators for skill-building and mentoring, and collects information and evaluations of the program. Experience working with youth and culturally diverse populations preferred.  Must be able to work independently, familiarity with positive youth development a plus.  $14-14.50 hourly based on experience. PROGRAM NUTRITIONIST (20 hours/week) 

Provide nutrition assessment, education and counseling to participants in individual and group settings.  Provides nutrition care to high-risk women, infants and children, data collection, dietary assessments, nutrition and breastfeeding education, referrals to other services and follow-up nutrition education.  Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in public health nutrition, nutrition or related, Masters degree in public health nutrition or food and nutrition, registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or licensure with the Massachusetts Board of Registration and Dietitians and Nutritionist desired. 1 year experience with clinical or community nutrition preferred.

Must have availability to work at multiple WIC sites and during program clinic hours as needed.
