Large Head Start/Early Education and Care program has a unique opportunity for a passionate Home Visitor. The successful candidate must be motivated, results driven and detail oriented, with excellent communication, data entry, and time management skills and be able to plan and implement engaging and effective home-based learning experiences.  The ideal candidate will have BA/BS in ECE, Human Services or related field, 5 years’ experience in ECE, Human Services or related field and familiarity with Head Start.  Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.  37.5 hours per week school year with reduced hours in the summer.  Pay range: $16.08-$17.31. Community Action’s Parent-Child Development Center is currently seeking substitute bus drivers, to safely transport PCDC children ages 3-5 to part day/ part year sites in Westfield and Ware.  Substitute Pay rate: $12.00 per hour.  School year operations run early September through end of May.

SUBSTITUTE BUS MONITOR

Community Action’s Parent-Child Development Center is seeking substitute Bus Monitors in Amherst, Northampton, Orange, Turners Falls, Ware and Westfield. Bus Monitors assist infants, toddlers, and preschoolers on and off the school bus. Bus routes run 1 ½ - 3 hrs during the early mornings, midday, and late afternoons. Must be able to engage children in positive social behaviors; assist children to their seats and secure them safely; safely unload children and release to their authorized adult; work cooperatively with the driver, staff, and parents; and maintain a professional and positive attitude. All applicants must be at least 18 yrs. old and have reliable transportation to meet the bus. Prospective employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and successfully pass a background check, plus submit a current physical. CPR and First Aid certified preferred. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. $11.20/hour. Training will be provided.

SUBSTITUTE COOK

A Head Start Preschool is looking for a reliable individual with a High School Diploma or GED and 2 years cooking experience. Must be Serv-Safe certified. Kitchens are in Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden Co. This individual must have flexibility in schedule and be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.  Job will include all aspects of cooking/serving and cleanup.   Pay rate is $12/hour.  Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory Early Education & Care Background Record Check (BRC) investigation. BREASTFEEDING PEER COUNSELOR

Peer counselors provide education, support, and encouragement to pregnant and breastfeeding women, helping to ensure that they have a positive and successful breastfeeding experience. Peer counselors counsel WIC pregnant and breastfeeding mothers by telephone and clinic visits at scheduled intervals determined by the program. This is a part-time (5 hrs/wk) position. 4 Summer Positions! 

Seeking energetic, organized, self-motivated individuals to help us put ~100 youth from Ware, Turners Falls, and Orange to work this summer, giving them the tools and on-the-job training to successfully enter the workforce! Must be highly reliable, able to work well independently and as part of a team. CORI and Safe driving record/ability to be insured under Community Action policy required.

(3 temporary summer positions: 1 ea. in Ware, Turners Falls, and Orange) Work one-on-one with teens supporting successful completion of summer internships and development of post-internship goals.  Provide job readiness training, and ongoing coaching to overcome barriers. Experience engaging and supporting at-risk youth required.  Access to reliable car required. 37.5 hours per week, generally Monday-Friday plus 1-2 weekend days during summer. $14.50-15/hr. depending on qualifications. (1 temporary position, Greenfield) Provide administrative support to fast paced summer work program for teens. Primary duties include processing youth timesheets and data entry. Must be highly attentive to detail and proficient with use of excel. 20 hours per week. Must be available all day Monday & Tuesday. Additional hours TBD Wed or Thurs. $12.50-13/hr. depending on qualifications.  Dates of employment 5/15/17-9/1/17.
