Full-time position in a dynamic non-profit multi-service agency. Community Action seeks an energetic, highly organized individual with excellent customer service skills to manage our Center for Self-Reliance food pantries in Greenfield and Shelburne Falls.   Coordinate and oversee all aspects of program operations at food pantry’s two locations including but not limited to:  supervising staff and volunteers; managing inventory and program budget; and, oversight of daily operations.

The ideal candidate will have a BA in a human services field or 3 years human service supervisory experience; 2 years experience with program coordination, food insecurity and/or nutrition. Must have excellent skills in time management, written communication, the ability to work independently and as a team member, and sensitivity to the needs of people with low incomes, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to lift 50 pounds. Full-time position in a dynamic non-profit multi-service agency.  Coordinate and facilitate the Franklin County Resource Network; implementation of a regional web-based Information & Referral program and a community organizing project; supervise the Coordinated Care Liaison; coordinate the Free Tax Assistance Program;  actively collaborate with other social service coalitions; and implement new asset development programs.

The ideal candidate will have a BA in a human services field or 3 years human service supervisory experience; 2 years experience with program coordination, networking, and group facilitation. Community Action seeks an energetic, highly organized individual with excellent customer service skills to assist individuals & families with access to supportive services, public benefits (SNAP & MassHealth) and other resources. The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s degree in Human Services or related field; at least one year experience in Human Services or applicable work experience with individuals and families that have low-incomes, additional directly related experience may be substituted for education; excellent computer skills; ability to work independently and occasionally travel throughout service region. Responsibilities include answering our Information & Referral line and screening callers for supportive services; meeting with people to do in-depth assessments to help increase and stabilize their income by assisting with applications for benefits and financial assistance, reviewing and educating them about their budget, developing plans of action, and making connections to resources; file organization and data entry.

37.5 hour position based in Greenfield office, $15 an hour, with benefits. Knowledge of resources and agencies in our service area preferred and Bi-lingual (English-Spanish) preferred. Responsibilities include creating STEM & early literacy materials, planning and facilitating family activities and parent education groups, providing referrals and other supports to families in a highly supportive and collaborative work environment. Requirements: Experience working with diverse families and understanding of child development and parent education topics. BA or Associate’s in early childhood, human services or related field preferred. Strong computer, data entry and record keeping skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have excellent supervisory, analytical and communication skills, be comfortable collecting, monitoring and presenting health data, and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.  Essential qualifications are a BA/BS in field or related field and 5 years management experience. MENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST

The Developmental Specialist for Mental Health works closely with staff, families and community agencies to 1) build capacity to address children’s social and emotional needs through staff training, on-site consultation and parent education; 2) build bridges between systems and services on behalf of children, families and the overall program through community referrals, follow up and tracking; and 3) provide support for crisis management and developing individualized behavior plans. SUBSTITUTE BUS MONITOR

Community Action’s Parent-Child Development Center is seeking substitute Bus Monitors in Amherst, Northampton, Orange, Turners Falls, Ware and Westfield. Bus Monitors assist infants, toddlers, and preschoolers on and off the school bus. Bus routes run 1 ½ - 3 hrs during the early mornings, midday, and late afternoons. Must be able to engage children in positive social behaviors; assist children to their seats and secure them safely; safely unload children and release to their authorized adult; work cooperatively with the driver, staff, and parents; and maintain a professional and positive attitude. All applicants must be at least 18 yrs. old and have reliable transportation to meet the bus. Prospective employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and successfully pass a background check, plus submit a current physical. CPR and First Aid certified preferred.
