INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

If you have the ability to follow directions, good organizational and time management skills, possess an aptitude for technology, an ability to work as a team player and independently and enjoy working with technology while supporting users at different levels then we would like to talk to you. This position is responsible for installing  and maintaining IT systems, including computer workstations, printers, servers, fax machines, copiers, networking equipment, and telephones. It also provides user support at sites located in Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden counties and is a great opportunity to learn new skills. Provide overall administrative assistance to the PCDC Director and to the Directors of Program and Business Operations.   Coordinate and assist with the development and dissemination of key governance, planning and communication documents and activities for the Program.

Looking for someone with 5 years high level administrative experience in a business and/or human services environment.  Must demonstrate excellent organizational, communication and computer skills, flexibility and professional judgement. Knowledge of Head Start and EEC philosophy and regulations strongly preferred, experience with PROMIS a plus.  Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment.  37.5 hours per week based in Northampton.  Pay range is $14-15/hour.

BUILDING and GROUNDS SUPERVISOR

Seeking an experienced professional with a demonstrated record of excellence to ensure safe, clean and compliant facilities for the Parent-Child Development Center’s 11 Head Start and child care sites throughout Hampshire, Franklin and the western part of Hampden County. Duties include facilities budgeting and planning, overseeing the building and grounds work order system, renovation and capital projects to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, supervising maintenance staff, completing general maintenance tasks, ordering supplies, and establishing systems for preventive maintenance.  Requirements include: a minimum of six years experience in managing and supervising projects and employees; demonstrated maintenance skills and experience with small to medium sized building renovations, including planning and budgeting; knowledge of HVAC, electric and plumbing systems, and knowledge of local building codes. CSL or trade license preferred. Must be able to be added to agency auto insurance plan and to lift 50 pounds without strain or discomfort.  Agency vehicle provided for work use. 37.5 hours per week with full benefits. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory Criminal Offender Record Investigation (CORI) and an Early Education & Care Background Record Check (BRC) investigation at the time of hire and then subsequently every three years. EARLY  HEAD START FAMILY ADVOCATE, 1 Part-time Position:  Northampton @ 18.5 hours per week/ full year position. Engages in collaborative partnership building with enrolled families and provides comprehensive case management services, in accordance with Early Head Start Regulations and as outlined in the PCDC Service Delivery Plan.  Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred and one year experience in Human Services or related field or 12 college credits and at least three 3 years of experience in Human Services or related field.  Must demonstrate very good verbal and written communication skills, the ability to prioritize and be exceptionally organized.  Must possess computer literacy skills and be comfortable with file review and data entry tasks.  Familiarity with Early Head Start and/or Head Start Programs preferred.  Spanish/English bilingual preferred.  Current valid driver’s license and safe driving record; satisfactory current Background Records Check (BRC).  Pay range is $13.00-$14.00/hour, excellent benefits.

HEALTH SPECIALIST

Ensures compliance with all applicable health related requirements for children, birth to five. Responsibilities include supervision of clerical staff, health tracking, monitoring and reporting.  Essential qualifications: RN with current Massachusetts license and two years experience in public health, pediatric or maternal and child health nursing or related field and one year supervisory experience.  Must be computer literate, have sound assessment, organizational and communication skills and demonstrate ability to be highly productive in fast paced environment. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory Criminal Offender Record Investigation (CORI) and Early Education & Care Background Record Check (BRC) investigation at the time of hire and then subsequently every three years. 37.5 hours per week.  Salary range $17.84-$19.54 per hour. KITCHEN ASSISTANT to serve Franklin County.  High School Diploma or GED plus 3 months experience in a food service setting. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and unload food for delivery. Valid driver’s license and evidence of a safe driving record a must. Job will include all aspects of food prep/serving and cleanup.   Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory Criminal Offender Record Investigation (CORI), an Early Education & Care Background Record Check (BRC) investigation and completion of physical exam.  Position is 25 hours x 39 weeks (school year).  Pay rate is $9.65- 10.45/hour, Holiday/vacation/sick pay.

NUTRITION SPECIALIST to serve the Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden County area with responsibility to assess nutritional needs and status of all children ages 0-5 enrolled in Head Start/Early Head Start and Early Childhood Programs.  Essential responsibilities include developing and implementing nutrition services that are consistent with Head Start Performance Standards and USDA requirements and oversight of food services.  Candidate must be a Registered Dietician (RD) or Nutritionist with 3 years related professional experience in a pediatric or early childhood setting and 2 years supervisory experience.  Must be computer literate, have excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills and must demonstrate ability to be highly productive in fast paced environment. 37.5 hours/week for 44 weeks and 30 hours/week for 8 weeks during summer.  Salary range $17.84 to 19.54 per hour.  Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory Criminal Offender Record Investigation (CORI) and an Early Education & Care Background Record Check (BRC) investigation at the time of hire and then subsequently every two years.  Upon hire must submit documentation of physical exam within past year and verification of MMR immunizations and TB risk assessment.

Safely transport PCDC children to and from home and school. 

Based in Westfield, 30 hours/week. Current assignment through end of this school year and may resume in the Falll. Minimum 3 years CDL driving experience.  Valid CDL with S&P endorsements for school bus driving in MA.  Knowledge of the Department of Transportation and the Department of Motor Vehicles regulations and all State and Federal transportation guidelines and regulations. Must pass random DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing.  Part-time positions in Hampden County.  Salary Range $13 -14/hour.

Ensure that transportation services are carried out in a safe and appropriate manner that is consistent with all state and Head Start guidelines. Maintain a safe and orderly environment on the bus so that the bus driver is not disrupted while driving.

Some experience working with young children, ability to achieve  CPR and First Aid certification and basic knowledge of vehicle and pedestrian safety protocols.

Westfield, part-time, split shift.  Pay Range: $9.25-10.05/hour.

SUBSTITUTE BUS MONITOR
Community Action’s Parent-Child Development Center is seeking substitute Bus Monitors in Amherst, Northampton, Orange, and Turners Falls. Bus Monitors assist infants, toddlers, and preschoolers on and off the school bus. Bus routes run 1 ½ - 3 hrs during the early mornings, midday, and late afternoons. Must be able to engage children in positive social behaviors; assist children to their seats and secure them safely; safely unload children and release to their authorized adult; work cooperatively with the driver, staff, and parents; and maintain a professional and positive attitude. All applicants must be at least 18 yrs. old and have reliable transportation to meet the bus. Prospective employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and successfully pass a background check, plus submit a current physical. CPR and First Aid certified preferred.
