Community Action of the Franklin, Hampshire, and North Quabbin Regions, a non-profit multi-service agency serving 27,000 people a year in western Mass., announces a new and exciting opportunity to provide innovative leadership as Director of Facilities. The Director of Facilities will oversee the overall management of agency facilities, and building safety throughout Franklin, Hampshire, and Western Hampden counties, including 11 Early Education and Care sites development.  This includes ongoing assessment, monitoring, reporting and planning, ensuring healthy and safe physical environments for very young children and their families, participants/clients, and staff in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and guidelines.   This position reports to the Director of Operations and supervises all Facilities staff.

The qualifications of the position include: Bachelors’ degree in related field or equivalent combination of related education and experience, current MA Construction Supervisor or trade license, 5 years supervisory and facilities management experience, experience with bidding of capital projects, short and long-term planning, and use of assessment, monitoring, and reporting systems.  Must have knowledge of local, state and federal building codes.

Community Action seeks two energetic, highly organized individuals for our Orange and Northampton offices with excellent customer service skills to work with low-income individuals & families to answer our Information & Referral line, conduct over the phone comprehensive benefits screening, advocacy, and scheduling of appointments, and provide in person supportive services. In this position you will meet with people at various locations throughout our service area to do in-depth assessments of need using a strength based model, help with applications for and access to SNAP, health insurance, financial assistance and more, educate households about their budgets, develop plans of action to improve household stability and make connections to resources.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s degree in Human Services or related field; three years’ experience in Human Services or applicable work experience working with households with low-incomes (additional education may be substituted for related experience or additional related experience may be substituted for education); excellent computer skills; demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team; and, reliable access to transportation to travel throughout Hampshire and Franklin county. Community Action Energy Programs is seeking an experienced Weatherization Energy Auditor.  This position will perform weatherization and heating system audits throughout Hampshire and Franklin County using guidelines from the U.S. Department of Energy and all regional utility company programs.  The successful candidate will have direct experience doing blower door and pressure diagnostics, zonal pressure testing, CAZ testing, heating system combustion testing, and the use of infrared technology, and working with contractors. The successful candidate will have a BA in environmental science, green building, engineering or related field.

This is a 37.50/wk position based in Greenfield with travel throughout the service territory.

PROGRAM SUPERVISOR

Seeking compassionate, hard-working professional for full-time Healthy Families Supervisor position.  Healthy Families is an intensive parenting support program that provides in-home coaching/support to pregnant and parenting teens and their babies.  The primary role of the Supervisor is to provide individualized weekly supervision to home-visiting staff utilizing a reflective practice and providing clinical and administrative support.  The Supervisor also coordinates referral/intake systems and plans/implements group services in cooperation with the home-visiting team.  This position receives intensive orientation and training in the HF model and ongoing supervision.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or field related to working with children and families.  Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required including at least 2 years of experience providing clinical support and 1 year of supervision and leadership experience.  Knowledge of infant/ toddler development and parent-child mental health required.  Must have understanding of prevention service delivery based on promoting protective factors of families.  Position is based in Orange, MA.  Program covers all of Franklin Co. and the North Quabbin region. SUBSTITUTE BUS MONITOR

Community Action’s Parent-Child Development Center is seeking substitute Bus Monitors in Amherst, Northampton, Orange, Turners Falls, Ware and Westfield. Bus Monitors assist infants, toddlers, and preschoolers on and off the school bus. Bus routes run 1 ½ - 3 hrs during the early mornings, midday, and late afternoons. Must be able to engage children in positive social behaviors; assist children to their seats and secure them safely; safely unload children and release to their authorized adult; work cooperatively with the driver, staff, and parents; and maintain a professional and positive attitude. All applicants must be at least 18 yrs. old and have reliable transportation to meet the bus. Prospective employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and successfully pass a background check, plus submit a current physical. CPR and First Aid certified preferred.
