Large Head Start and Child Care Program seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to assist the Director of Business Operations with budget, grant management and facilities oversight work. The ideal candidate will have a degree in accounting or business administration with experience in budget development, possess excellent technical and interpersonal skills, and have the desire to grow and learn in a challenging and supportive environment.

Must be proficient utilizing Microsoft Excel and Word, have excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, be comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline driven environment, and have the ability to work independently or as a member of a team. S/he must be, or quickly become knowledgeable about Head Start Program Performance Standards, Massachusetts Early Education and Care (EEC) rules and regulations, Davis-Bacon Act, policy guides, and other communications as they pertain to operations.

Minimum requirements are a High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Degree preferred. The position is full time at 37.5 hours/ week. $16.08 to $17.31/hr. and based in Greenfield.

 Early Head Start Program seeks an experienced and enthusiastic early childhood leader for our full day/full year site in Turners Falls, MA.  The ESS provides overall administration of 2 infant/toddler classrooms that are EEC licensed and NAEYC accredited. The successful candidate must have the demonstrated ability to develop authentic and professional relationships with children, families and staff, will display excellent leadership, organizational and collaboration skills, and a have demonstrated ability to work in a highly regulated and fast paced environment. Minimum qualifications include a BA in Early Childhood Education or directly related field with early education and supervisory experience.  Must be EEC Infant Toddler and Director II certified.  Salary Range is $18.32 - $19.85, 35 hours/week full year. Community Action’s Parent-Child Development Center is currently seeking substitute bus drivers, to safely transport PCDC children ages 3-5 to part day/ part year sites in Westfield and Ware.  Substitute Pay rate: $12.00 per hour.  School year operations run early September through end of May.

SUBSTITUTE BUS MONITOR

Community Action’s Parent-Child Development Center is seeking substitute Bus Monitors in Amherst, Northampton, Orange, Turners Falls, Ware and Westfield. Bus Monitors assist infants, toddlers, and preschoolers on and off the school bus. Bus routes run 1 ½ - 3 hrs during the early mornings, midday, and late afternoons. Must be able to engage children in positive social behaviors; assist children to their seats and secure them safely; safely unload children and release to their authorized adult; work cooperatively with the driver, staff, and parents; and maintain a professional and positive attitude. All applicants must be at least 18 yrs. old and have reliable transportation to meet the bus. Prospective employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and successfully pass a background check, plus submit a current physical. CPR and First Aid certified preferred. A Head Start Preschool is looking for a reliable individual with a High School Diploma or GED and 2 years cooking experience. Must be Serv-Safe certified. Kitchens are in Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden Co. This individual must have flexibility in schedule and be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.  Job will include all aspects of cooking/serving and cleanup.   Pay rate is $12/hour.  Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory Early Education & Care Background Record Check (BRC) investigation. Peer counselors provide education, support, and encouragement to pregnant and breastfeeding women, helping to ensure that they have a positive and successful breastfeeding experience. Peer counselors counsel WIC pregnant and breastfeeding mothers by telephone and clinic visits at scheduled intervals determined by the program. This is a part-time (5 hrs/wk) position.
