The Healthy Families Program is seeking a positive, compassionate, and hard-working individual to join our team as a full-time Home Visitor for the Hampshire County Healthy Families program.   This intensive and long-term home-visiting program serves pregnant and parenting teens and their babies with goals focused on promoting healthy pregnancy, positive parenting, healthy child development and family stabilization.  Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.  Experience providing supportive services to families with young children and working with culturally diverse populations required.  Must demonstrate knowledge of infant/ child development and parent-child relationships.  Previous experience with home-visiting a plus!

NUTRITION SPECIALIST

We are looking for a  Nutritionist with 2 years related experience to serve the Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden County area with responsibility to assess nutritional needs and status of all children ages 0-5 enrolled in Head Start/Early Head Start and Early Childhood Programs. Essential responsibilities include developing and implementing nutrition services that are consistent with Head Start Performance Standards and USDA requirements. Must be computer literate, have excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills. Must demonstrate ability to be highly productive in a fast paced environment, display cultural competence, and be sensitive to the needs of families with lower incomes.  Employment contingent upon satisfactory completion of a complete background investigation, including: CORI, DCF, SORI and fingerprint-based checks. Pay range: $18.07 to 19.79 per hour, 37.5 hours/week for 44 weeks and 30 hours/week for 8 weeks during summer, highly collaborative work environment, and excellent benefits.

The Parent-Child Development Center is looking for a Developmental Specialist for Mental Health. Reporting to the Developmental Services Supervisor, Specialist works closely with staff, families and community agencies to address infants’, toddlers’ and preschoolers’ social and emotional needs through on-site consultation, staff training, parent education, crisis intervention and community outreach, collaboration and referrals. Provides support for crisis management by advising staff on how to respond to unsafe behaviors and Employee must be a licensed mental health professional with at least 2 years of early childhood (0-5) mental health experience, preferably in an early education and care setting, with excellent assessment, communication, training, presentation and strong interpersonal and professional networking skills. Must be able to develop individualized behavior plans, work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced, data-driven and outcomes-based environment. Must be computer literate and comfortable with the ongoing collection and tracking of electronic data. SUBSTITUTE BUS MONITOR
Community Action’s Parent-Child Development Center is seeking substitute Bus Monitors in Amherst, Northampton, Orange, and Turners Falls. Bus Monitors assist infants, toddlers, and preschoolers on and off the school bus. Bus routes run 1 ½ - 3 hrs during the early mornings, midday, and late afternoons. Must be able to engage children in positive social behaviors; assist children to their seats and secure them safely; safely unload children and release to their authorized adult; work cooperatively with the driver, staff, and parents; and maintain a professional and positive attitude. All applicants must be at least 18 yrs. old and have reliable transportation to meet the bus. Prospective employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and successfully pass a background check, plus submit a current physical. CPR and First Aid certified preferred. The Mediation & Training Collaborative is seeking a positive, compassionate individual for a 15 hr/wk position, minimum 3 days a week, as a Peer Mediation Coordinator in a Franklin County middle school.  The Coordinator would recruit students to be trained as mediators who then volunteer to help resolve conflicts between students in their school. The Coordinator promotes the program, schedules mediations, and meets regularly with peer mediators for skill-building and mentoring. Experience working with youth and culturally diverse populations preferred.
