Community Action of the Franklin, Hampshire, and North Quabbin Regions, a non-profit multi-service agency serving 27,000 people a year in western Mass., announces a new and exciting opportunity to provide innovative leadership as Director of Facilities. The Director of Facilities will oversee the overall management of agency facilities, and building safety throughout Franklin, Hampshire, and Western Hampden counties, including 11 Early Education and Care sites development.  This includes ongoing assessment, monitoring, reporting and planning, ensuring healthy and safe physical environments for very young children and their families, participants/clients, and staff in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and guidelines.   This position reports to the Director of Operations and supervises all Facilities staff.

The qualifications of the position include: Bachelors’ degree in related field or equivalent combination of related education and experience, current MA Construction Supervisor or trade license, 5 years supervisory and facilities management experience, experience with bidding of capital projects, short and long-term planning, and use of assessment, monitoring, and reporting systems.  Must have knowledge of local, state and federal building codes.

TAX SERVICES ASSOCIATE

Community Action’s Tax Services Associate will conduct the eligibility screening and intake, and schedule tax preparation appointments. Responsibilities also include tracking calls, confirming appointments both in writing and by phone, and helping to follow-up with taxpayers who need to provide additional documentation to complete their return. Training in basic tax prep will be provided to better understand the screening and tax preparation process. This is a full-time, temporary (Dec to mid-April) 30 hrs. week maximum (some variance Dec & April) position.

The ideal candidate will have High School Diploma or GED and 1 year experience in office-related functions including customer service or other relevant experience; ability to complete training and IRS certification in basic tax prep; one year customer service experience preferred; bilingual/bicultural (Spanish/English) preferred.  Pay rate $15/ hr, morning, afternoon and evening hours needed.

CLIENT SERVICES COORDINATOR

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of office management and supervisory experience and demonstrated abilities in customer service. The coordinator will also have demonstrated abilities in general computer applications and basic office computer troubleshooting.

Seeking compassionate, hard-working professional for full-time Healthy Families Supervisor position.  Healthy Families is an intensive parenting support program that provides in-home coaching/support to pregnant and parenting teens and their babies.  The primary role of the Supervisor is to provide individualized weekly supervision to home-visiting staff utilizing a reflective practice and providing clinical and administrative support.  The Supervisor also coordinates referral/intake systems and plans/implements group services in cooperation with the home-visiting team.  This position receives intensive orientation and training in the HF model and ongoing supervision.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or field related to working with children and families.  Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required including at least 2 years of experience providing clinical support and 1 year of supervision and leadership experience.  Knowledge of infant/ toddler development and parent-child mental health required.  Must have understanding of prevention service delivery based on promoting protective factors of families.  Position is based in Orange, MA.  Program covers all of Franklin Co. and the North Quabbin region. SUBSTITUTE BUS MONITOR

Community Action’s Parent-Child Development Center is seeking substitute Bus Monitors in Amherst, Northampton, Orange, Turners Falls, Ware and Westfield. Bus Monitors assist infants, toddlers, and preschoolers on and off the school bus. Bus routes run 1 ½ - 3 hrs during the early mornings, midday, and late afternoons. Must be able to engage children in positive social behaviors; assist children to their seats and secure them safely; safely unload children and release to their authorized adult; work cooperatively with the driver, staff, and parents; and maintain a professional and positive attitude. All applicants must be at least 18 yrs. old and have reliable transportation to meet the bus. Prospective employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and successfully pass a background check, plus submit a current physical. CPR and First Aid certified preferred.
