Energetic, organized individual needed to manage all input into the agency’s accounting systems including all general ledger adjustments and overseeing the integrity of the accounting data.   In addition this position will assist with various reporting requirements, act as back-up to the AR Manager, assist with audits and supervise the Fiscal Assistant.  Qualifications include: Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related field; knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); A minimum of two years experience of fiscal management; Not for Profit accounting experience preferred.; and Experience with fund accounting and managing multiple, blended funding sources preferred.  Additional appropriate education or experience may be substituted for the experience or education requirements stated above.    Must have proficient organization, communication, and computer skills.

Community Action is seeking a dynamic, compassionate, and hard-working human services professional to join our team as a Supervisor for our Franklin County North Quabbin Healthy Families program.  This position offers the opportunity to positively affect the lives of young families by motivating and supporting a team of home visitors who focus on maternal infant health, parenting education, and family stabilization.  The ideal candidate has a mental health background as well as experience with home-visiting and reflective supervision practice.   Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant leadership/ supervisory experience as well as knowledge of the FC/NQ community.  Hours for this position may vary from 30 to 37.5 per week. This position also requires travel throughout the FC/NQ region.  Pay rate is $18-19 per hour.

The Parent-Child Development Center is looking for a full time Health Manager with demonstrated experience and commitment to quality health and developmental services for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their families. Must have excellent analytical and communication skills, be comfortable collecting, monitoring and presenting health data, and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.  Essential qualifications are a BA/BS in field or related field and 5 years management experience. Experience needed in Health and/or Head Start and/or Early Childhood, and background in Health Management preferred. FAMILY SERVICES SUPERVISOR (2 positions)

The Family Services Supervisor supports and oversees Family Advocates to ensure effective case management, file and data integrity, collaboration and family engagement according to regulation and program goals. Must be a confident supervisor with demonstrated experience with case management in human services and be able to use internal data system for tracking, monitoring and reporting.

Candidate must demonstrate excellent professional judgment and have the ability to make sound decisions, knowledge of Head Start requirements preferred. Must be computer literate (with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel), and demonstrate excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills. Minimum qualification requirements are a BA/BS in Human Services or related field, 2 years program administration,to include 1 year supervisory experience, or Associates Degree in Human Services, 3 years of program administration and 1 year supervisory experience.  Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license; satisfactory background check; current physical exam and MMR verification.  37.5 hours/week school year; 32 hours/week summer.  Collaborative work environment, excellent benefits. LARGE FULL DAY FAMILY ADVOCATE  

Based in Northampton, Vernon Street Site. 40 hour per week position/ full year.  Advocate provides comprehensive case management services to all enrolled families at site, in accordance with Head Start Regulations and as outlined in the PCDC Service Delivery Plan. Works in partnership with families to achieve goals and to support their children’s school readiness.

Minimum requirements are an Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related field with one year related experience or 12 college credits and at least three 3 years of experience in Human Services. Bachelor’s Degree and at least three years related experience preferred.  Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, have the ability to prioritize and be exceptionally organized.  Must be computer literate and skilled with file review and data entry tasks.  Solid experience with case management and familiarity with Head Start and/or Head Start Programs and bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Current valid driver’s license and safe driving record and satisfactory current Background Records Check (BRC) required.  Pay range: $13.17-$14.18/hour with .50/hr salary differential. SUBSTITUTE BUS MONITOR
Community Action’s Parent-Child Development Center is seeking substitute Bus Monitors in Amherst, Northampton, Orange, Turners Falls, Ware and Westfield. Bus Monitors assist infants, toddlers, and preschoolers on and off the school bus. Bus routes run 1 ½ - 3 hrs during the early mornings, midday, and late afternoons. Must be able to engage children in positive social behaviors; assist children to their seats and secure them safely; safely unload children and release to their authorized adult; work cooperatively with the driver, staff, and parents; and maintain a professional and positive attitude. All applicants must be at least 18 yrs. old and have reliable transportation to meet the bus. Prospective employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and successfully pass a background check, plus submit a current physical. CPR and First Aid certified preferred. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. $9.00/hour. Training will be provided.
