TMTC’S WORK WITH SCHOOLS AND YOUTH
Since TMTC began in 1987 we’ve been working with schools throughout western Massachusetts. The approaches and language describing what we do has changed over the years, but at its heart, we’re called to help develop supportive school communities and relationships where differences are handled well and youth and adults are empowered to resolve conflicts effectively. Our services:
Training, workshops for school administrators and staff and youth leaders – sample topics include trauma-informed de-escalation, communication skills, restorative practices, peer mediation, youth intervention
Consultation – integration of restorative practices, school-based conflict resolution options, peer mediation program management, dealing with challenging dynamics
Facilitation, mediation – supporting school teams in dealing with tough situations, navigating collaborative problem-solving , working through issues between individuals
Conflict coaching – helping individuals achieve their own goals related to communication and conflict resolution skills
We serve all schools (public and private), from elementary to high school grades, primarily in Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden counties. We also work in higher education settings.
In 2018 we began our regional pilot Restorative Practices Project, providing professional development opportunities, mapping regional use of restorative practices, and celebrating local schools’ work at a successful June 14 event See our Highlights of Findings here.
We’re excited to be expanding our Restorative Practices work this year, with workshops and Professional Learning Community opportunities open to adults and youth leaders. See our schedule here; to register click here.
