Community Action Pioneer Valley has dozens of programs that help keep our neighbors fed, warm, supported and connected. Where are you most inspired to give? You can direct your donation to support young parents navigating school, jobs and raising their children. Donating appreciated stock is one of the most effective ways to support Community Action Pioneer Valley, and it may benefit you too. 

Why it makes sense: You can avoid paying capital gains tax on stock that's grown in value, as long as you've held it more than a year. You can deduct the full fair market value of the shares, not just what you originally paid for them. You can make a larger gift at the same cost to you, compared to selling the stock yourself and donating the proceeds.
