Healthy Families

WHAT WE DO

Becoming a parent for the first time can bring a mix of feelings – Excited? Scared? Happy? Worried?

We are here for you! No judgment. Only acceptance and reassurance. Healthy Families is a family support program for pregnant and parenting youth.

What does that mean?

It means you are partnered with a “Home Visitor” who gets to know you and your baby by visiting with you regularly.

Your Home Visitor is trained to be a good listener and to help you explore your questions and hopes as a new parent. Together you will discuss topics such as pregnancy, child development and parenting.

Want to meet other parents like you? We got you! We offer groups throughout the year just for young parents!

Who We Serve

Parents who:

  • are 23 years old and under
  • are first-time parents (first baby)
  • are pregnant or have a baby less than 12 months old
  • are mothers, fathers, or gender diverse parents
  • live in Franklin County, Hampshire County, the North Quabbin, Chester & Ludlow

How Do I sign Up?

Submit the online “Contact Form“. It will ask for your name, your birthday, and your contact information.

We will reach out to you within the next few business days and give you some more information about Healthy Families.

You can ask questions to help you decide if you want to enroll in the program. If you decide to enroll, we will set a date to meet with you!

What Can I expect from Healthy Families?

You will first talk with your Home Visitor to decide on a meeting schedule – day, time and location.

Then, during regular visits, you will check in with your Home Visitor and explore parenting information and family resources.

Your Home Visitor will ask you what you want to talk about and will encourage you to set goals for yourself. You can continue to receive Healthy Families services until your child turns 3 years old. Then you will be a Healthy Families Graduate!

Do you speak any other languages?

We have Spanish-speaking Home Visitors available. We welcome participants who speak any language. If we do not have a staff person who speaks a participant’s preferred language we use translation tools to support our communication!

ParentChild+

WHAT WE DO

ParentChild Plus is a home visiting program for families and caregivers with young children from 16 – 48 months old.A smiling home visitor stands next to a grinning young ParentChild+ graduate who is wearing a blue graduation cap and holding a certificate. A congratulations banner hangs in the background along with a blue star-shaped balloon.

What does that mean?

It means you are partnered with an early learning specialist who will visit you and your child either at your home or at our Family Center twice a week to help you support your child in getting ready for school.

Your Home Visitor will bring either a new book or toy each week and ideas for how to use those materials to encourage your child to develop language and social skills. You will be able to keep the books and toys to use with your child.

Who We Serve

Any primary caregivers in Greenfield and Turners Falls who are interested in a fun, engaging, and educational opportunity for their young children!
