Each June for sixteen years, The Mediation & Training Collaborative (TMTC) and the Franklin-Hampshire Guidance Association (FHGA) have co-sponsored the Peacemakers' Summit, a conference for peer mediators at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA. The Peacemakers’ Summit is one of the largest gatherings of student mediators in the country. The conference offers student mediators in the fourth through twelfth grades, along with their staff advisors, the opportunity to come together to enhance their skills in workshops presented by adult and youth mediators, teachers, counselors, psychologists and artists.
The Peacemakers’ Summit is a non-profit, educational event that was created and is run by The Mediation & Training Collaborative, the Franklin-Hampshire Guidance Association and a group of dedicated volunteers. The Peacemakers’ Summit is made possible by the donation of space at Hampshire College, registration fees and, in 2010, a Youth At Risk Grant from the Massachusetts Department of Health.
