This interactive training will present skills to help facilitators increase ability to better assist groups in getting beyond misunderstandings, value differences and hidden coflict in order to set mutually agreed-upon, goal-oriented agendas, deal with complex issues and information, and address conflict. The trainer is David Specht, a facilitator, mediator and organizational consultant. Cost is $125. Non-refundable $50 deposit required with registration. A four-session, 30-hour practice-based training open to anyone who wishes to increase ability to help others deal with conflict, whether as a formal mediator or in other work settings. Participants learn the skills of de-escalating conflict, dealing with inflamatory language, identifying and articulating issues, helping parties to move from positions to underlying needs and to explore options for agreements satifactory to everyone. $575 fee includes 74-page manual, coached practice sessions, parking and refreshments.
